The black frame is made of wooden MDF material, and the filling is safe plexiglass that won't break if it falls. The plexiglass has two layers of protective film - front and back - so everything is protected during delivery or transport. The frame can be hung vertically or horizontally.
I use these frames myself and am extremely satisfied with them.
